After completing my first week of training for next winter, I'm due for a status update.
I want to thank each of you who trusted my dedication to sport and invested in my passion this past season. I am able to do many things on my own, but this past season was not one of them.
I'm so grateful to have had the opportunity to represent Canada and give myself a chance to see this dream through. More than that, each challenge educated me in a new way.
Since my return to sport, it's been quite a grind and my recovery wasn't as quick as the team and I would have hoped. Nonetheless, I am very hungry to push through this tough plateau and perform in the way I know I'm capable. Given everything I've been through to be healthy and competitive again, I owe myself and all my supporters another push... another chance. After all, "you miss 100% of the shots you don't take."
On April 4, I was told that the women's downhill program is no longer supported by Alpine Canada. I am working tirelessly and creatively with my national and international contacts to give myself another shot. It is a work in progress.
I am grateful for your help to this point and hope that I can count on your continued support.
